Your Mission:
A Dungeon Environment Artist creates high quality, gameplay ready dungeons, raids and architecture in World of Warcraft.
From a humble village mill to towering monolithic spires of holy light. Mighty fortresses high in the snowcapped mountains to forbidden temples in the darkest, dankest depths of Azeroth and beyond, you’ll be creating iconic fantasy locations that will be enjoyed by millions of players all over the world.
The ideal candidate is experienced in creating architecture (both interiors & exteriors). The artist should be able to create structures from concept to completion (including modeling, UV mapping, texturing and lighting) and have a solid grasp of architecture fundamentals.
Location fixed :
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is either Irvine, CA or Boston, MA
Responsibilities:
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Construct 3D architectural models from block out through to textured, completed game ready assets.
- Light your assets effectively to convey emotion, story and gameplay assistance
- Create 2D hand-painted textures independently, with traditional digital painting methods
- Create quality assets that align with relevant art direction and fit within the World of Warcraft style overall.
- Work with design teams to create gameplay friendly assets that function correctly for game design needs.
- Creating performance efficient assets that comply with game technical specifications
- Collaborating efficiently and respectfully with other artists and design teams in a large ongoing project.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in game development creating high quality architectural game ready assets.
- Proven experience creating diverse 3D environments with strong story and narrative themes.
- Experience working in a game development pipeline with cross-discipline teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Able to collaborate closely with Visual Development concept artists.
- Strong knowledge of 3D software and being able to use it to create stylized 3D art.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
